Future

HPS is responsive and in touch. Their understanding of BIM modeling is different from that of a traditional architectural firm and the outcome is that the entire project team has ownership.”

—john mack, vdc integration specialist, herrero contractors, inc.

Collaboration and innovation in both design and construction have always been hallmarks of the firm. Now we are taking collaboration with General Contractors to exciting new levels of achievement. Our work with DPR Construction in Integrated Project Delivery (IPD) and Building Information Management (BIM) on the 250,000 sf Palo Alto Medical Foundation Mountain View Center was awarded the first-ever San Francisco AIA Honor Award for Integrated Practice. IPD and BIM techniques, including extensive 3D-4D documentation, design/assist, and Lean design and construction methodologies lead to significant savings in construction time, materials, and the cost of work of the major subtrades. Our important landmark work is being enthusiastically received by a wide sector of the design and construction industry and will be even more widely discussed in future forums.

We believe the next wave of advancement will be in the full integration of IPD and BIM with Sustainable Design and Construction so that designers, builders, and Owners can assess real time feedback on design and construction decisions that affect building performance and related impacts on the community. We are committed to the premise that every one of our projects will move in that direction.

Our future lies with the people who come to work here and the people we work with. We believe in supporting our staff in doing what they do best while encouraging everyone to grow and learn. The people who work here are the best and we intend to keep it so. That remains our recipe for success in the future.
